Sir Edward Grey’s note to the Powers suggested'the appointment of a Governor-General for Macedonia either Christian or Mahommedan for a term of years. *The appointment to be on the pines of the Governorship of Mount Lebanon. The proposal has created a sensation in Austria where it is believed Sir Edward Grey has already secured the support of Russia, Prance and probably of Italy.
