AN UNFORTUNATE CREW.
Press Association. Auckland, March 13. The barque Elizabeth, which arrived at Tahiti rceently fronpMarssiles, provided the residents of Papeete with some sensation. One of the crew fell overboard and was drowned, another was killed when jumping ashore from the ship’s rail to the wharf, his head being split open. The cook had bad sunstroke and was sent to the hospital, and a sailor had one foot nearly severed by a wire hawser.
