ST. PATRICK’S DAY. The names of G. W. Lawrence (for 75 yards and St. Patrick’s Handicap), and F. Peuhall (for all cycle events), and G. Doerr for two and five miles cycle handicaps, were omitted from the list of nominations published yesterday. The Marten Athletic Club has taken out a policy of £3OO under the ‘‘Public Risk” Clause of the New Zealand Insurance Company, which covers the public and competitors at the Sports Meeting. The bending competition and basket and flag race are open to ail ponies and are mot restricted to polo ponies. The following are the teams for the fire brigade event, for which three beautifully designed gold medals have been made by Mr Max Boruhcld ; No, 1 Team: W. Goodall, L. Miles, and H. Poster. Ho. 2 Team ; W. Turner, H. Broome, and J. H. McDonald. No. 3 Team: W. Hut tali, L. Nuttall, and W. Alien.
