FIRE BRIGADES’ CONFERENCE.

- Press Association. Mastertou, March 10. The sixteenth annual meeting of the United Fire Brigades’ Accident Assurance Society was held here this morning. There was a full attendance of delegates representing fire brigades and fire police. President Boyes occupied the chair. The President’s report showed an increase in funds during the year of £154, bringing up the credit balance of the Society to £1331. It was resolved to amend the rules in several respects among others to amend Rule 29 respecting ""the dissolution of a Society to provide for payment of a sum not exceeding £4O instead of £2O into the benefit fund at the end of the year after liabilities are provided for. A new rule was added : That bona fide messengers of brigades be admitted as members for full' risks only in the Accident Society. Ti.e election of officers resulted :—President. Captain King ; vice-presidents. Captain Jenkins, Mastertou, and Captain Spriggeus; secretary, James G. Gilbert!. This concluded the business.
