METHODIST CONFERENCE.
Per Press Association. Auckland, March 10. The Methodist Conference has decided to cable to the Victorian Conference asking them to send two accepted candidates to New Zealand for immediate appointment. The following have been elected chairmen of Districts: —Aucklandßev. G. Bond; Wanganui, the President, (ex otricio) ; Wellington, Rev. W. J. Williams; Nelson, Rev. C. H. Garland; Canterbury, Rev. S. La wry ; Otago, Rev. W. Slade. The Methodist Conference appointed Home missionaries for Wanganui District as follows; —Now Plymouth, M. J. Hilder; Cape Egmont, A. Layhourne ; Palmerston North (Ashhurst), O. L. Carr ; Taihape (Manacwekai, Edwin Somerville : PateaT C. A. Stewart; Ilimboltou, J. H. White; Taumaruuni one wanted; Churn, W. H. Wise; North Taranaki (Saddle Bag missionary), Chas. A. Stewart.^ A recommendation from Wanganui was adopted' that an attempt should bo made to constitute Maori work into separate Synods anti to (real effectively with West Coast Maori work.
