Press Association. Christchurch ,M arch 6. Arthur Duff, alias Dunkley, was. to-day committed- to the SupremeCourt for sentence, having pleaded guilty to eight charges of theft. These' include two motor bikes, valued at £55 and £25 respectively, bikes valued at £33 (3), £3O, £lO, and £4, and one suit of clothes, valued at £4 10s. The thefts were from different people at different dates., Ernest Vaughan pleaded guilty to forging and uttering cheques, and was committed for sentence.

Napier, March 6. At the Supreme Court, Frederick Ewart and Thomas Anderson, charged with stealing, were acquitted. Luther Martin Murray was found guilty of sheep and horse stealing. He was sentenced on thoser charges, and also on the charge of assault with intent to rob, for which he was convicted yesterday to five years’ imprisonment on each charge. The sentences to be concurrent. George Adams was found guilty of assault, and was remanded for sentence.
