Per Press Association. Gisborne, March 6. At the Supreme Court James Campbell was sentenced to two years for wilful damage to the Union steamer Tuatea, the Judge characterising it as a most dastardly crime, likely to lead to loss of life. The sentence. His Houor said, was altogether inadequate but the Criminal Code did not provide for such a case. John Gofrey for theft was sentenced to six months.
