NEWCASTLE MINERS.

EVIDENCE IN CAMERA. Press Association. —Copyright. Sydney, March 1. The Newcastle Miners’ Committee of Management, after two days’ consideration on the question of the submission of evidence in camera to a Special Coal Court, resolved that the Federation could not accept evidence in camera; all must he given in open court. The resolution will be submitted to Special meeting of miners on Monday, along with a suggestion that if either party refused to give evidence because if published itwould be prejudicial to their financial position the Court will examine such evidence and decide whether the grounds of the objections are sustainable. The situation is now strained, as the President of the Court has definitely ruled that he will accept in camera evidence in reference to the financial position of the colliery companies.
