Per Press Association. Wellington, February 14. In the Supreme Court Judge Cooper refused an application to set aside the counter-claim in the case of McGregor v. Stobie, and ordered that the claim and counter-claim be heard at the Wanganui Supreme Court next week, late in the list. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, John Smtih, a seaman who had been boarding at Barrie’s boardinghouse, Wellington, was fined £lO and costs for sly grog-selling at the boardinghouse. Notice of appeal was given. David Barrie and Mary Barrie were charged with being occnpiers of premises on which illegal sales of liquor had taken place. The case was adjourned till the appeal in the Smith case.
