Press Association. Wellington, February 14. • A deputation from the Fiaxmilleru Association waited on the Hon. R. McNab to-day. Complaint was made that there was a lack of uniformity in grading at different ports. It was suggested that a sample hank of eacltf grade should be placed attach port. The deputation asked that the bonus previously offered for an improved method of 'treating flax should be renewed. Several minor complaints about the flax regulations were made. In reply to the deputation, the Minister speaking about the application for a bonus, said ho did not want to encumber bis estimates with a .large sum of money, which was being taken advantage of, but he would not place an obstacle in the way of a bonus again being offered if id were likely to have the desired effect. A conference of those people interested in the industry would* no doubt result in a great deal*of/good. He did not wish to see manufacturers being put to unnecessary expense, and would consult with Mr his return to New Zealand about "the minor matters brought under his notice. The difficulty concerning grading could bo then definitely settled -
