At a largely attended meeting here on Saturday afternoon it was decided to amalagmate the branches of the New Zealand Farmers’ Pinion in this district, with one central branch at Pahiatua. Mr J. C. Fowler, organiser of the Union, said he had received about 130 promises from farmers to join the branch and he considered the branch would eventually have a membership of about 300. The subscription was fixed on a graduated scale, the minimum being 10s on £2OOO of unimproved value, with an increase of Is for every £SOO above that amount.
