LOSS ON M.C.O. TOUR. Press Association.—Copyright. Received Feb. 6, 0.5 a.m. Sydney, Last Night. The agreement under which the present English team tours Australia, secures to the Marylebone Club at least £IO,OOO out of the gate money. The Board of Control assumed responsibility, and in turn passed it on to the associations controlling cricket in New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. With the end of the tour now in sight, it appears tolerably certain that the associations will have to make up anything between £ISOO and £2500. Up to the conclusion of the Tasmanian tour, the English team had recieved £5389. The remaining tests and the match against New South Wales and South Australia will have to find the balance, and it is likely that the total will fall far short of this amount. If the Englishmen’Win the fourth test, the shortage will be about £1500; if they lose it, the fifth match will be no “draw,” and the loss be nearly £2500.
