A BY-ELECTION. Received Feb. 1, 4.46 p.m. London, Feb. 1. The vacancy created in South Herefordshire by the death of Col. Gardner was filled by the election of Captain Olive (Unionist) by 4,946 to Mr Thomson’s (Liberal) 4,938. [This is a Unionist -gain, as the previous member was a Liberal. ]
