Received February 3, 11.17 a.m. Melbourne, February 3. / An inquest, on five babies who died at the premises of a registered nurse revealed a shocking story of cruelty and neglect. The little ones were tied hand and foot to prevent them throwing the bedclothes off, and the surroundings were dirty. The’coroner said the evidence was not sufficient to commit the nurse for manslaughter, but he hoped she could be punished for cruelty.
