SHOOTING.
WANGANUI MEETING.. Per Press Association. Wanganui, December 37. The second day of the rifle meeting is proceeding under most satisfactory conditions on Putiki range. Firing at the last range in the Wellington match concluded this morning. Highest scores for the match were;—Private Frederick (Marton Rifles) 03, Sergeant James (Napier Rifles) 61, Corporal Rashleigh (Palmerston Rifles), Riflemen McLeay (Whakataki Rifle Club), and Kyle (Linton Rifle, Club) 60, Private T. Marrett (Taranaki Rifles), Riflemen Beauchamp (Maugamahu Rifle Club) Hyde, Miller, and McOalmont (Otaki Rifle Club), and Private McEwen (Taranaki) 59. Rieflman McLeary, Whataki Rifle Club, won the championship belt with an aggregate score of 813, Sergt. Morgan, Napier Rifle Club was second with 305 and Drummond, Daunevirko, third with 304. Other highest aggregates were:—Rifleman Kyle, Linton, and Lance-Oorpl. Purnell, Wanganui, 303, Captain Craw, Linton,3o3, Bugler Soler, Wanganui, Rifleman Cameron, Opaki, and Rifleman Willoughby, Gladstone Rifle Club, 301 each. Opaki No. 1 won ti»e champion teams match with 1270, Palmerston North, 1358, Wanganui Rifles 1338, Opaki No. 3, 1208.
