WATERSHED ROAD SCHOOL.
The Watershed Road School broke up for mid-summer holidays on Thursday, 19th inst. The prizes were distributed by Mr E, L. Ingpen, the former teacher, who in a few happy and appropriate remarks, encouraged the pnpils*to exert their gratitude to their parents, and to Mr Lambert to whose generosity they owe their school. After the prizes were presented each scholar received a Christmas present, and then refreshments were kindly provided by Mrs J. Lambert and Mrs E. Rider. Master Leslie Lambert presented the teacher, Miss McCarthy, with a morocco hand bag on behalf of the school children. Three cheers were then given for all the ladies ■and friends who so kindly subscribed towards the handsome prizes and presents received by the children, for Mr Ingpen, and for the teacher. After singing ! ‘ God Save The King,” the children dispersed to enjoy their 'presents, and a very happy afternoon was terminated by the whole group being photographed. Standard I , arithmetic and reading: Allister S. Lambert. Standard IH., reading, writing and sewing: Elsie Lambert. Stnadard V., first prize: John Leslie Lambert; arithmetic and English, Neil M. Lamhefc. The school reassembles on Monday, January 27th.
