THE TONGA GUARDS.
DISBANDED BY THE COUNCIL,

A Tonga correspondent reports that on the. occasion of the colchration ot King Edward’s Birthday, the Tonga guards being dissatisfied with a certain uniform when ordered out to tire a salute appeared on parade, in tatters, having ripped their uniforms in a, disgraceful manner. The British Commissioner called ou (lie Prime Minister for an explanation aud war. informed later that the King’s Guards would ho disbanded with the, exception of the King and one unofficial member. The councillors voted unanimously for the disbandment.
