MORE BROOKLYN TRAM CASES.
Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 9. His -Honor Mr Justice Button and a special jury, to-day beard tho case in which Richard Elliot, a baker, sued tho City Council for £SOO for injuries received iq a tram accident on tho Brooklyn lino last May. The Council had paid £65 into Court in satisfaction of plaintiff’s claim, and contended that plaintiff was exaggerating his injuries. The jury awarded £250. A new trial is to bo moved for on tho ground that the damages are excessive.
