JURIES REFUSE TO CONVICT. Press Association —Copyright. Received Dec. 9, 10.7 p.m. Loudon, Dec. 9. The Right Hon. Sir Edward H. Carson, M. P. for Dublin University, speaking at Macclesfield and referring to reports of lawlessness in Ireland, declared that the English had bettor withdraw if they were not prepared to govern Ireland according to ordinary elementary conditions of civilisation. Received December 10, 8.40 a.m. London, December 9. Messrs William O’Brien and Timothy Healy strongly denounce cattle driving. Seventeen persons wore tried at Leinster for unlawful 'assembly. The jury disagreed. The jury at Munster Assizes declined to “convict three prisoners of manslaughter, though one was seen striking the deceased man and all wore identified.
