SANDON SCHOOL CONCERT.

This most interesting annual event was, most successful, as aforetime, both in the matter of attendance of tlio parents and the excellence of the entertainment. The stage was tastefully decorated with (lowers and flags, but the better decoration was undoubtedly the smiling children, all so neatly dressed and quite enjoying the performing of their several parts. The overture was played by the Sandon Orchestral and Glen Club, under the leadership of Mr Drew. The lively march played made a good opening. In the representation of the several characters care was taken by the management to dress the children suitably, and in some cases the effect "was very pleasing Among tho items most deserving of mention was "My Dolly," by little Dorothy Bowater; "Toy Baud," by a number of boys; ""The Medical," by Lawrence Matthews and Ken Hight; the fan drill, by 12 girls; "The Civil Service Examination," by the boys— Lawrence. McHardie, and A'Court; "Tho Skv Marines," by L. McHardie;* "A Trifle Mixed," by |L. Matthews; a little pieco by I Aunio McDonnell and Stella Perrett; "Deaf Mrs Brown," by the girls—R. Raine, S. Porrott, D. Wilson and Aunio McDonnell; and "Washing Day," the latter being one of the best, given by most of the children. It was very well dono indeed. Mr Walters, tho head teacher, aud Mrs Walters deserve praise for the trouble taken to teach the children so nicely, and also Miss Bailey for the musical part undertaken by her. In thanking the people "for their attendance, Mr Perrelt. chairman of tho School Committee, announced that it was tho intention to give tho annual excursion to tho Oroua Downs.
