ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Napier, December 2. In reference to a telegram from Gisboruo stating that the body of a middle-aged man had been found in 'the surf there, and that in tho pockets was found an address—' John Owens, Enfield Road, Napier," inquiries have elicited tho fact that Mr John Owens is at present m Napier. It is supposed, from tho description given, that the body is that of a man named David James Young Kirk, in tho employ of Nelson Bros., Ltd., Tomoana, as slaughterhouse clerk, and Who left on transfer to their Gisboruo branch on tho 25th November, but who Jias not put in an appearance at the works there. Gisboruo, December 3. With reference to the body found on the beach yesterday, it appears that a man named Anderson saw deceased go into the water on Sunday, but did not take further notice of him. Tho body has been identified by a man who slept in tho same room with deceased at a lodging house as that of David Y. Kirk.
