SEQUEL TO A SLANDER ACTION.

Per Press Association. Wolli ugtou, Nov. 35. In the Bankruptcy Court to-day, St. George Edward Dowsing applied for his discharge. Bankrupt, who is employed in the Land and Income Tax Department, admitted that he had filed in order to escape payment of costs granted in an undefended case brought against him by a creditor for slander. Bankrupt considered ho, and not the creditor, was the injured party. His Honor said he could not grant an unconditional discharge, and ordered bankrupt to pay £35 within twelve mouths, payment to be made in quarterly instalments.
