THE CRUDE CASE.
Press Association—Copyright. Paris, Nov. 25. Madame Valctto, au elderly woman living in Paris, claims to he the daughter of T. G. Druce’s natural sou by a French woman. ' She asserts that Druce sent her father on a mission to Australia to discover her half-brother. Ho was away for a year and ou returning to Paris, footpads fatally stabbed him, stealing his birth certificate and other documents. Druce came to Paris terribly distressed, and gave her a sealed envelope bidding her guard it carefully. After hearing of Druce’s death sh'e was amazed at his outoring dior tobacconist shop four years after tho Franco-Prussian war. On her expressing astonishment he replied, “Yes, Druce is dead, hut Portland is still living. ” She never opened tho envelope, but now proposed to send it to Hollamby Druce.
