Grant (chief draughtsman) and Fairhall (surveyor of the Lauds Department at Nelson), capsized when crossing the Matakitaki River ou Sunday. Grant suffered a fracture of the leg, aud Fairhall a severe shaking. They were taken to Murchison for medical attention. Auckland November 20. ” Edward.Ormsby, two years of age, whoso parents reside in Morriusville fell into a water trough aud was thence washed into the river. The body was recovered some days later iu a shallow pool.
