Mr Mervyu Macartney, ;in architect, asserts that eight piers supporting tho dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral have sunk, some over six inches, others less. While Mr Macartney does not consider _ the situation serious, other eminent architects differ strongly, and urge that tho strictest precaution should be taken.
