A PATHETIC LETTER,

Received November 16, 9.12 a.jca. Sydney, November 16. The victims of the Hotel Metropole tragedy at Oowra, a solicitor named Lister King and his wife, are both well connected. They arrived at the hotel yesterday morning. The husband left a pathetic letter referring in endearing tonus to his wife, in which lie states that lie gave her prussic acid, and as that failed to have much effect ho shot her. Ho then took poison and woke tip two hours afterwards and swallowed a glass of brandy to steady his nerves, and wrote a letter describing the awfulnoss of waking from death. The letter concludes: ‘‘My darling is in Heaven, but she will not have long to wait, as I am going to shoot myself and join her.” No reason is given for the tragedy.
