FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of the Committee was held last night, Mr E. Goodbehero in the chair. The Directors reported that most of the classes at Feilding had concluded for .the year, but the classes iu the country would continue until December 31st. The attendance was keeping up well, aud the capitation earned would easily cover expenses. The dress-making classes had been suspended from September 10th to October 2nd, owing to the illness of Miss Gilbertson. The apparatus aud chemicals for the science rooms aud models aud casts tor the art room, which had boon ordered from Homo, would arrive this month, that there would he no delay in fitting up the rooms as soon as the building was finished. Tiie contractor expects to have the school building completed’by tiie end of January. As regards finance, lie expected to finish the year with a balance of £2O, exclusive of donations. These would amouut to about £/5. Donations up to the present amounted to £360 ss, whilst the capitation earned already amounted to £350. There would be an exhibition of technical work from the school at the next show of Feilding Horticultural Society. It was] suggested that an endeavour should be made to give au exhibition at the opening of the school and also at the A. aud P. Show.
Tlio Director, reporting on the busiuesss done at a conference of directors, read the regulations agreed to for the management of technical schools, which will be submitted to the Education Board for approval. He stated that there was a probability that au art and also a science instructor would bo appointed, to reside at Feilding.
