WANGANUI SHOW.
Per Press Association,
Wanganui, November 18. Pleasant weather was experienced for the first day of the, Wanganui Agricultural Show, which opened to- ' day. Though entries did not come forward as- anticipated, yet they were very large and the Show, both in number and quality, is a good exposition of the capabilities of the district. The attendance is very good and arrangemens are all first class. Horses, cattle and sheep all bear, the stamp of fine quality and other live classes are well filled with a good class of exhibits. Produce, wool and grain drew few entries, though what is shown is fairly good. Home industries as usual provided a very fine display and though there are not so many entries as last year it has lost none of its popularity with the public. The public schools entries are few and not particularly good, but magnificent is the only word to describe the technical exhibits which are an outstanding feature. Field Battery took first prize in the thoroughbred stallion class.
