In the match between the All Black professionals and the strong Wigau team, Wigau scored four tries (twelve points)) to New Zealand's goal aud two tries (eight points). The attendance numbered 30,000. Both sides had put in their strongest possible team, each recognising that it was to bo a crucial test. Wigau held the lead from the start, scoring two trios in the first half to New Zealand's one. The players straiuod every nerve to win and the game proceeded amidst great excitemont at a, tremendous pace throughout.
