ALLEGED BUSHRANGING.

Effect of a Cinematograph. Per Pi css Association Auckland, November 1. A youth, of sixteen named William Crombie has been arrested on a charge of assaulting Richard Clarke a settler at Drury with intent to rob him. He is alleged to have called on the latter and demanded money producing a revolver. Mr Carko closed with him and sheared the revolver and Crombie decamped. Ho was also wanted on a having stolon a horse at Helensvillc and of having assaulted a lady at the Newmarket Railway Bridge where also he presented a revolver. Crombie recently witnessed an animated picture' depicting the life of the bushrangers starlight and this seems to have made an impression on his youthful mind and to have fired him with ambition to emulate his deed.
