A conference of tho Chambers of Manufacturers adopted a resolution condemning tho now protection systom as a cumbersome and impracticable addition to the State Wages Boards and Arbitration Act, which should not bo superseded until they had a longer and more thorough trial. The conference favoured Commonwealth penny postage.
