A FEW DOTS ON MAN.
i , . , A man's life is full of crosses and j temptations. j He comes world without | his consent, and'goes out against his ] will, and the trip between the two l is exceedingly [rocky. The rule j of contraries is one of the most imi portant features of the trip. I When lie is little the big girls kiss ] him, but when he is grown the up ! little girls kiss him. i If he is poor, he is a bad manager; if'he is rich, lie is dishonest. | If he needs credit, he can't get it; < if lie is prosperous, everyone wants to do him a favour. ! If he's in politics, it's for pie; if ; he's out of politics, you can't'place j him, and he's no good for his country. j If ho doesn't give to charity, he is ' a stingy cuss; if ho does, it's for show. i If he is actively religious, he is a ; hypocrite; if he takes no interest in I religion, he is a hardened sinner. I If he shows affection, he is a soft ' specimen; if he seems to care for no : one, he is coldblooded. i If he dies young, there was a great future ahead of him; if he lives gto an old ago, he has missed his calling. | The road is rocky, but man loves to travel it.—Chicago Trade Journal.
