COAL AT MAURICEVILLE.

Per Press Association. Masterton, October 8. A Wairarapa Daily Times’ reporter has just returned from a Visit inspection to Kummer’s coal prospecting operations at Maurioeville, which have been on a tolerably extensive scale, involving a total ofitlay of some £500.. The reporter was ac ; conipanied by a qualified mining expert, A.- E. Hall, and the latter was very favourably impressed with liis inspection, - Mr Kmhmer has done a rgreat deal of work in the .way of shafts, drive’s, tramway and hauling appliances. Mr Hall pronounces all the indications are exceptionally encouraging. He predicts a successful future before the industry at Mauriceville. He also found indications of other valuable deposits, including the constituents of cement.
