An apparently soini-offlcially inspired article in tho Cologne Gazette strenuously protests against tho attempt of tho French newspapers to show that Germany, in view of the iroseut unfavourable condition of ter money market, is unable to bear tho cost of her belief that prepared; ness for war is essential to the support of peace. It declares that tho attempts to undermine it are very reprehensible. Tho article proceeds to show that the animadversions of tho Frencii newspapers are baseless.
