The majority of the Rand Water Board (representing 50 millions of capital) protested against the Governincut's arbitrarv and discourteous action in appointing Ml" Purchase, late Legislative Councillor, as chairman of the Board, contrary to the unanimous desire of its members. The minority (representing 27 millions) decline to support the protest.
