Auckland, September 16. lloberfc Fry, 31, a rpfitlont of Newmarket, was knocked down by a tramear tins aiiernoon and seriously injured, his back being broken. He was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

At (he inquest on the body of John Morris Shannon, who was found hanging by a strap in an outhouse of the Stortford Lodge Hotel on Sunday morning, was hold this afternoon. A verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. ' Auckland? September 17.
Mary Lydiurd, 21 years of age, employed in Miss McElwain’s hairdressing rooms, died last night under circrumstauces making an inquest necessary. She was found sitting in a chair apparently in a fainting fit, and she died before medical aid could be obtained. On a shelf close to deceased was a bottle containing cyanide of potassium, labelled “poison.”
