ACQUITTED OF MURDER.

Arthur Roy Ashton, charged with the murder’ of a New Hebrides native, lias been acquitted. Accused while’ superintending an estate, discovered one of bis labourers stealing pineapples. The labourer became impertinent aud Ashton struck him with a whip. The native seized the Whip, belaboured Ashton iu unmerciful fashion,'and Ashton, to save himself, drew his revolver and shot his antagonist in the leg. This °iu s furiated the labourer and Ashton, to save Iris own life shot the [labourer dead, through the heart.
