U'ha Conciliation Board to-day filed its recbmmendatioDS for (he settlement of the dispute m the baking trade affecting the industrial district of 'Wellington, The Board recommends -IS hours per week. Si on each af five working days and a’ on the weekly half-holiday. Work is not to begin earlier than 4 a.m.,'except on exceptional specified occasions following holidays. The minimum wages throughout the district arc to he : Foreman, £3 5s per week ; any man except foreman working an oven, T 3 ; others, £.i 10s ; jobbers, 11s per day, with a minimum of half a day. All employees to receive “ dry pay,” When an emplojer is substantially engaged in the bakehouse ho shall not commence work earlier them tho lipur prescribed above. Overtime rates : Time and a quarter from 1 to 4 pan., time and a ffivif 4 to 10 p.m. Fill work to ha dona between 10 p.m. and midnight. To apprentices overtime shall bo Od per hour for tho fii'st year, thereafter Is per hour. Double time payment is to be paid for all work between midnight and tho regular hour for commencing work, pa holidays time Mid kali. Xuids' Day, Good i’iictay. and ' Sundays double time in' addition to tho regular wage. The usual clauses are added regarding apprentices, under rate workers and preference to unionists.
