BARTON BULB AND SPRING FLOWER SHOW.

This has now become an institution and improves and increases each year. Despite the late adverse weather tho show of blooms in the Drill Hall is very beautiful, and the exhibits more numerous than ever before. The industrial and produce exhibits also show a largo increase. Jn fact, tho entries in all classes are 263 as compared with something under 200 last year. Much of this success is due to tho energy of the Ladies’ Committee, under whose auspices the show is held, and particularly to the hard work and enthusiasm of the honorary secretary —Miss N. Hadfield. Tho judging of the flowers was in the very capable hands of Mr C. H. E. Rhodes, of Rata, while Mrs Dairymplo and Mrs r. p. Lethbridge judged the-, decorative items, Mrs G. F. Bishop aut! Mrs S. J. Davenport tho industrial and Mrs S. Gibbous and Mrs Towusou the produce. All seem to have given every satisfaction. A word of praise is due to - Miss Bennett, Mrs Wilde and Mrs E. Smith for assistance in staging the exhibits. Mr Suellgrove gave valuable help in the general arrangements and MiHedges was also a prominent workox-. The secretarial work at the show was in efiiicont hands—Mr F. O. tMlson undertaking the duties. His system of receiving entries and recording tho awards no doubt acgounted for the smooth way in which everything passed off. The attendance at tho show was satisfactory, the hall being well filled in tiie evening. Tho three-act farce, dancing and music (Crozior’s String Baud) were extremely successful, the dancing especially being worthy of the pdgiiratjon it excited. The show opens again to ; dny and special attractions will bo provided for this evening’s entertainment. Tiie following is the prize list:— MAG'NI COEONATI,
