MARTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
: TJIO monthly meeting was held last evening. Present: Rev. Gordon (chairman), Messrs Purnell, Morgan, S. J. Davenport, A, Way, E. Mossman. and W. L. Little.* The report of the sub-committee in connection with regulations for tho constitution and election of Technical Schocl Committees, and the powers and duties of such committees, was received, and ■ action in sending on to tho Board endorsed. Letters wore received from the Board in connection with tho drainage and fittings of the school.— It was resolved that a list of subscriptions towards drainage bo sent to tho Board, and they be asked to have this work put in hand at onco. A meeting of tho District High School Committee was thou hold. Tho District Health Officer wrote agreeing to give a certificate to tho effect that attendance had been affected by infections diseases, if furnished with detailed information by the headmaster. The Headmaster’s report showed number on roll (primary) 244, average attendance 314; secondary, number on roll, 30, average attendance 24.5. It was stated that the usual holidays will commence on September 30th. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs J. J. McDonald, G. M. Davenport, and G. H. Dolby. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Massey and ins company for contribution (£1 18s Sd) from proceeds of the juvenile opera performance.
