Press Association Mastertox, September 7. Labour agents report that work is plentiful iu the Wairarapa. Bushmoil and scrub cutters arc at a premium, and ploughmen are in good demand. The wages for agricultural labourers show a marked improvement as compared with those ruling iu the South Island. Influenza is quite a prevalent epidemic iu Mastortou, there being more cases than any previous season. Many are of a severe type. The mortality amoug the breeding owes iu the Wairarapa is ascribed to the unusual abundance of feed at this time of the year aud iu some cases to lack of attention. It is said that mortality is not abnormal, but is more noticeable on account ct the increased va.ue of sheep.
