ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Dunedin, September 5.

While proceeding upstairs to his room in Gladstone Hotel last night, a man named Thomas Murray overbalanced himself by some unexplained means and fell to tho floor below, a distance of fully 20 feet. Hu was admitted to tho hospital in au unconscious condition and died this forenoon. Deceased was about <ls years of age. Masterton, September 5.

A youth named John Pond, 17 years of ago, was found hanging from a rafter in a loft above tho shop where ho was employed about 5 o’clock this afternoon. No reason is assigned for tho deed. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
