Per Press Association. New Plymouth, September 5. A well-attended meeting of the Employers’ Association to-night considered the proposed amendments to the Factories Act and carried a resolution strongly urging the Minister of Labor to amend clause 9 subsection 2 of the Factories Act Amendment, so that it may be optional on any borough outside the chief centres where factories and shops arc combined to observe tho half-holiday under tho Shops’ Act in lieu of Saturday, and heartily supports,the N.Z. Employers’ Federation in their efforts to secure this important privilege. A petition covering tho above resolution is to be circulated.
