Per Press Association. Napier, September 3. An accidont’occurrod to tho Taupo coach yesterday while descending Titiokura Hill, beyond Pohui. The horses got out ot control, oud the coach capsized, the driver, HayUow, sustaining] a broken arm "and severe injuries to ouo leg. b ortnnatoly, there were no |passengors m the coach. Blenheim September 3. A married man, named Frank Lofroy Lawroy, who came to Blenheim a few weeks ago from Dalesford, Victoria, was killed at Batty’s farm at Springlanils yesterday attrouoon. An engine ami saw wheel bad been employed in cutting wood when it was stopped and tho bolt removed to reset the saw. When going back to replace tho bolt tho engineer and driver saw Lawroy, who was a casual baud employed to hand wood to the saw feeder, 'fall to the ground. Ho was found to be quite dead, bis head being smashed in. It is suggested that deceased, not being used to machinery, tried to put the belt on but overbalanced and struck Ins head against the edge of the front travelling wheel. Evidence at the inquest showed that tho engine was perfectly motionless when the accident occurred and there was no positive evidence to account for tho sad accident. Tho jury adjourned to view tho sccuo of the accident. 1 Deceased leaves a wife and tivo or I three young children, another being expected shortly. Ekkt.uiuna, September 8. MacDonald, aged 31 years, died at Niroaha last night of tetanus following an. attack of influenza. Waipawa, September 3.
The body of Charles'Scott, who was drowned in the Waipukurau Lake twelve davs ago by a boat upsetting, was recovered this morning. ixvKßC.viiGir.r,, September 3. Tiio body of Thomas Crawford, aged 50 years, single, was found op. ifivertou beach this morning. It is supposed ho was seized with a fit and drowned by the rising tide. Deceased was a remittance map. At the inquest on William Alaun to-day the medical evidence wont to show that he died from appendicitis, hut a statement having been made tht lie strained himself by lifting a bale of hay an adjournment was made to obtain ofideuco on this point. Auckland, September 3. William AlcGrogor, an apprentice employed by W. E. Hutchinson, when working a circular saw, was struck in the abdomen by a piece of wood thrown oil by.the saw, and lip died in tho hospital. Evidence at the inquest to-day showed that death was caused by tho rupture of a small intestine.
