ARBITRATION ACT AMENDMENT.
Lords of Lalicur Protest. For Press Association, Wellington, September 2. The Wellington Trades and Labour Council issued a lengthy manifesto to workers strongly condemning tho Arbitration Act amendment proposals. The manifesto assorts that ■“lt is most difficult from a more recital of tho principles of this amending Bill to got at its hidden depths and meaning. After most exhaustive scrutiny of every detail of tljo Bill wo have no hesitation in saying that this is most.cunningly devised, iusidoius, and dangerous from the standpoint of the workers aud the public wellbeing, which has over been submitted to our House of Representatives and to tho people of Now Zealand.” If tho Bill is passed into law the Council advises unions to withdraw thoir sanction from this kind of legislation, and to uso all moans of passive resistance to make tho legislation null aud void.
