The Asembly has agreed to a Bill introduced by the Treasurer for levying a profit tax of 10 per centum on diamond, copper and mining companies earning over ,£50,000. The income tax proposals have also been” accepted, with the proviso that companies with headquarters at the Cape be treated on the 100(1 scale.
