A Clerical Boycott. Press Association. —Copyright. London, August 30. The Archbishop of Canterbury has urged the clergy to refrain ftoHL performing the ceremony of marriage with the deceased wife’s sister or allowing the use of their churches for the purpose; He argues that the discretion allowed the clergy cpvers the proclamation of banns. The Bishop of Salisbury, in a sermon in Trowbridge Church, said marriages under the Deceased Wife’s Sister Bill would never ,be acknowledged as lawful marriages. They are wit'iiu the prohibited degrees and he exhorted his hearers to keep the law of the Church and not uso the liberty the State had given them. They would thus support what, ho believes, will prove the unanimous view of the bishops.
