THE DUNEDIN BURGLARIES.

Per Press Association. DuNßDix, August 21. A sequel to the burglaries in tho city, reported yesterday, occurred this afternoon when a young man named Henry I'raucis Smith, said to be a recent arrival from Christchurcli, was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering the offices of Hogg and Co., timber merchants, and stealing therefrom an overcoat and bicycle. After the robbery the detectives were handed the foot of a yock of which the leg had been cut off so as to serve as a glove to conceal any trace of finger marks. This piece is said to exactly tit the part of the sock found in accused's room. The stolen property has been recovered. It is understood accused has confessed his guilt.
