Appeal Court's Decision

Imprisonment for Non-payment. Press Association, Wellington, August 22. Judgment in the case ' Peddio v. Millar, regarding the power of the Arbitration Act to enforce its orders when failure to pay flues occurs, was given by the Court of Appeal today. A majority of the Court, the Chief Justice, and Justices Cooper. Chapman and Button, held that appellant must succeed and the. judgment of Justice Williams must be reversed, with direction to the Supreme Court to issue attachment, or in other words the decision declares that imprisonment can follow non-pavment of lines inflicted under the Arbitration Court award.
