The Daily Mail has made enquiries as to the probable effect of Australia's now tariff ou British oxports. .The Premier Cycle Company replied that it had already received cablegrams cancelling large orders. O. and E. Morton had similar cables cancelling olive and castor oils. Marshall'and Sons' Company, Gainsborough, replied that should the tariff bo maintained colonial industries would doubtless be built np in time and we shall find it difficult to compete ou tlieso lines. Sansones, Sous and Jeffries, Ipsurch, declared that the increase of tariff would very prejudicially affect their trade.
